I didn't realize either that they make a whole until it happened in our yard. The bunnies we always had growing up were in cages, so I never go to see the holes. I dont know what to do about your dog. I would think the rabbits would figure out that it wasn't friendly there and move on to another place, but who knows.Stephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06351112636504261704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17273826.post-57955442859429599852007-03-06T09:15:00.000-06:002007-03-06T09:15:00.000-06:00Okay, so they actually do live in a hole in the gr...Okay, so they actually do live in a hole in the ground? We found where we thought their nest was. Samuel (my son) showed me a hole & next to it, we saw what might have been the makings of a nest... straw, dead grass (which is pretty much everywhere!) & fur. It looked like how a bird might have made a nest, but on the ground. They were tiny little things (at first, I thought I had stumbled across a dead mouse), so I'm wondering how to keep Dallas away if more rabbits decide to use our backyard as birthing grounds ??Amberlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03218014115413824001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17273826.post-81502556254864036572007-03-06T09:02:00.000-06:002007-03-06T09:02:00.000-06:00Hehe, I was thinking about Chris' story as I was r...Hehe, I was thinking about Chris' story as I was reading your post. Chris thought there was a snake hole one time in our backyard, so he took a yard aerator (sp?) and started stabbing in the ground. (He was wanting to kill the snake if there was one in there) But there was no snake...bunny rabbits started screaming. He accidentally stabbed one before they started screaming. We tried to take care of the rabbits over the next few days, but all three wound up dying. It was very sad. Since then we have had more baby rabbits in our backyard, but we have left them alone. :)Stephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06351112636504261704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17273826.post-13530979923247404452007-03-06T08:53:00.000-06:002007-03-06T08:53:00.000-06:00Dana, we moved here in September.
