Christmas Confession

This probably will not settle well with many people, but I feel the need to confess anyway:

* I do not like icicle lights!

And the only reason I don't like them is because they do not hang straight! Drives me absolutely crazy!! I like for Christmas lights to be nice, clean & straight! Icicle lights just don't do it for me.

A bit anal, no?

AMEN! I am so glad you said that. I felt the same way, but didn't really know why. You're right -- I don't like how messy they look.

I agree! I like nice clean lines and clear lights only. Although I have liked the red then white lights, kind of candy cane look.

I don't like them either, but not for the same reason. I personally like all colors of Christmas not just white. The other night I saw someone with blue icicle lights and thought they looked really wierd!! I really just enjoy the old fashioned Christmas bulbs lining roofs. Steve isn't able to get up on our roof and do it. I think it would be fun one year to just hire the light decorators to do it for us! But probably because of the cost I never will and will just have to settle for the bushes. This year everything outside my house is red and white.

I agree with you, Amberly. They are not my favorite kind of Christmas light - although I know it's probably easier to put those up than the bulb kind.

In the Philippines it is very popular it's kind of reminding Filipinos about snow or Frozen ice that hangs on the roof edges of houses. But in New England it is popular especially the Blue and Red Colors.

When it's covered with Snow it is more prettier.

Yes, here in Texas icicle lights just do not look taht great. I completely agree - they do not look straight- and i am as simple as they come in decorating and ease but I settle for no lights versus the icicle. I bet it is prettier if you actually get snow. Maybe if I travel up north one day I can check it out. :) I miss you

What's funny is that I have not seen very many icicle lights here in the Philippines at all. I was thinking mostly about every year that we put up Christmas lights back in TX, it seemed that we were the only family that did not hang icicle lights. They are very popular back home, as well!
