My day so far...

This is how my day so far has been:

Nick has come up to me twice today & said, "I'm sorry, Mommy. I didn't mean to spill it."

My Swiffer is getting quite a workout!!

I know that as moms we're supposed to expect and accept spilled things, but can I confess it absolutely drives me crazy when my kids spill their milk at the table. I try to stay calm because the last thing they need is some tragic memories of their mother going ballistic over a simple glass of spilled milk. But I feel like screaming "can't you just be careful???????????" especially when it happens several times in a short period of time. I have to bite my lip and say in a sweet voice, "please try to be careful with your cup." as I feel extremely annoyed on the inside about having to take the time and get down on the floor to wipe it all up. Of course, then I start to think about all the times I make the same mistake over and over and how grateful I am that no one is angry with me.

I have to chuckle because last Sunday at our picnic at least 5 kids dropped their hotdog right after I gave it to them and we had to start over again. One child dropped theirs 3 times! I too wanted to say "Can't you be more careful?" Fortunately, Suzanne had made extras.
