Somewhere over the rainbow...

I saw the most beautiful double rainbow yesterday after a short rain shower. I was on the way home from Target & the entire way home, it looked as if I was driving straight into the rainbow. I don't think I've ever felt that close to one before. It was truly magnificent! I could see every layer & every color meshing into the next layer of color. I called Sammy & asked if he could see it from our house, but unfortunately, the clouds had moved over our area & he couldn't see it. I was so disappointed, because I really wanted him to take a picture of it. It was so close!

This past Christmas, my mother took this picture of a double rainbow you could see from her front porch. You can barely see the rainbow on the very top, but it's there. It's a great picture, but it just doesn't come close to what I saw yesterday.

Rainbows, of course, always remind me of God's promise & the beauty He creates in this world. And, they also remind me of Sydney. She LOVES to draw rainbows. She & my niece both color all their pictures "rainbow style". A picture of a rainbow Moses from Bible class is hanging in her bedroom. When they study a new letter of the alphabet at school, she always brings home her big, blocked letter colored in with every crayon color imaginable! So pretty!

And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."
Genesis 9:12-16

Who doesn't love rainbows?! They are so marvelous and special because you don't see them every day. And isn't it funny that they're so special that we call home to our family to make sure they get to see it too! I do that also!
